Tips on Preventing Psoriasis Flare Ups

Psoriasis is considered one of the most common skin conditions in the world. Millions of people are affected by this condition all over the world, and yet there is still no lasting cure for it. Psoriasis is not just a cosmetic problem; but also a frustrating illness that affects people’s physical, social and emotional health. Psoriasis is a visible disease that can affect everything that you do, so it is very important to keep it under control and to avoid relapses. Let me give you some tips on how to prevent psoriasis flares.

1. Take some vitamin D. Natural sunlight, the best source of vitamin D, has long been known to improve psoriasis. Psoriasis patients are advised to receive daily doses of the morning sun as the UVB that comes from the sun penetrates the skin and slows down the growth of the affected skin cells. But of course, because winter is here and the sun is missing in action, you can get the same effect of UVB from laser and light therapies.

2. Peel your skin with natural exfoliants. Natural exfoliants such as oatmeal, Epsom salt, Himalayan salt and the Dead Sea salt can help get rid of the rough dander and soften the skin. Make it a habit to exfoliate your skin once every week.

3. Take vitamins A, C, and E every day. Dietary supplements such as vitamins A, C, and E are known to protect the skin tissue and aid in collagen formation. Aside from that, these vitamins can also help to keep your skin from drying out and itching.

4. Make it a habit to moisturize your skin after bath. Slathering lotion may not necessarily help to clean up your psoriatic lesions, but it can help alleviate its associated itching. Natural moisturizers such as jojoba oil, olive oil, and pure coconut oil are the best because they are very gentle and do not irritate the skin. Moisturize your whole body while your skin is still moist to more effectively seal the moisture.

5. Keep your intake of dairy products and red meat to a minimum. Researchers have shown that red meat and other dairy products contain arachidonic acid that can make your lesions fresh and inflamed. This acid can swell your psoriatic lesions, so you may want to limit your milk intake.
These are just a few tips you can do to prevent psoriasis flares. You might also consider seeking alternative treatments such as light and laser therapy to improve the overall appearance of your skin, but at the end of the day, it is your daily habits that greatly affect your flares. A healthy lifestyle is definitely the best choice for the treatment of psoriasis.

Four Amazing Benefits of Remote Patient Monitoring For Patients with Chronic Disease

The remote patient monitoring market is set to rise in the next few years, according to a 2017 market data forecast report which states that the international market of RPM solutions will reach $ 59.26 billion by 2021, almost doubling the figure at last year.

But it's not just the patients, or the doctors, or the only payers who are driving this wave for adoption. Rather, remote patient monitoring is set to remodel the entire industry, to the benefit of all. In our advantages of remote patient monitoring, we will examine the numerous reasons behind the growing popularity of remote patient monitoring, from the point of view of all those with a role to play.

Today we will take a look at how RPM systems benefit the most important individual in the healthcare sector: the patient.

How patients can benefit from remote patient monitoring

Increased access to professionals: by allowing them to digitally connect with their healthcare professionals, patients can overcome one of the biggest challenges they face: access to care. Whether you're an hour away from the nearest doctor or you're just struggling with waiting times in a crowded hospital environment, RPM systems lighten the dilemma. RPM solutions allow patients to search for doctors anywhere, leaving them free from the limits of regional structures.

Reduce logistics limitations: Going to a doctor's office can be a difficult process. Taking a break from work, or taking children out of school, can be almost impossible. Then add the cost of transportation, laboratory tests, and other travel considerations. For those with medical conditions that limit ambition, this can be even more difficult. By taking advantage of a Remote Patient Monitoring system, patients will be able to get the care they need from the comfort of their homes, reducing costs and other logistical limitations.
Early detection for better results: time is of the essence when it comes to patient outcomes. Remote patient monitoring can improve patient outcomes by allowing continuous monitoring that increases the ability of clinicians to prevent serious problems. This can be useful for diagnosis and for making changes during the course of treatment. This can be particularly useful for patients who make changes to medications, as they will be able to report any side effects and adapt quickly if necessary.

Early detection, in this case, can also refer to connected medical devices. If these devices start to act, the ability to detect early is once again indispensable.

Greater autonomy: Remote patient monitoring allows people to take greater control of their treatment cycle. From notices to remain compliant with the requirements, the ability to educate and learn with the data in their RPM system, patients who can remain engaged and active in their care will have the opportunity to maximize the results of their program.

Clearly, patients will benefit a lot with the introduction of remote patient monitoring capabilities within your healthcare organization. Be sure to come back next time when we discuss the benefits of remote patient monitoring for payers.

Tele health Is a New Technological Advantage for Health Care

Needless to say, telemedicine has been of great help in changing the way health services are used and made available. Since patient care has been the central issue of fundamental importance, every medical center now adopts telehealth with pleasure thanks to its reliable, fast and comfortable services to take care of itself.
To take care and reduce stress in the health process, hospitals and general practitioners have begun to give due importance to video conferencing and guidance in consultation to ascertain the correct diagnosis from remote locations. This process has proven to be an exceptional reality that has facilitated the magnificent opportunity to conduct future GP surgery and better access to experienced professionals within the basic care process.
It is a fact that while A & E services are facing great difficulties to pay due attention, this particular technology could significantly reduce the unbearable burden of health care.
The telehealth would be able to examine the general change concerning the main focus, for example considering the development of isolated medical diagnoses and observation rooms, allowing patients to be diagnosed using the link and then observed slightly through the professionals. Telehealth has the advantage of every possibility of developing high-definition conferencing meeting packages by allowing categories of specialist to collectively discuss treatment solutions, regardless of their geographic presence and providing additional time to provide various essential solutions.
Such Telehealth applications not only have the potential to accelerate clinical diagnosis and the prescribing process to deliver longer lasting results but also share patients from the waste of time and boring travel.

Telemedicine is constantly improving and can be adapted to the required conditions. Optometry and Renal rare are already recognized for the telehealth that could be used; patients on dialysis can be observed remotely in their homes. In addition, eye tests can be conducted via video conferencing.
The integration in mobile devices is an advanced development of telehealth that facilitates patients to interact with their doctors through video streaming which is totally new technology and has proved more reliable and convenient. Thousands of nursing support staff and GPS would benefit from this new technology, in a desired period of time, expanding access in a considerate and caring manner.
Perhaps, in short, we will see the emergence of telehealth as the most technical help of health care. This includes the treatment process from psychological patients or prisoners. Video links can be available via mobile phones. This new technology would easily facilitate every single rehabilitation method for the improvement of psychological and physical patients.
Many more technology experts are the new generations, they may be more willing to enjoy the benefits of telemedicine and the services it provides, while older people will benefit much more from a unique telemedicine app. For example, older people or even those who might have attacked are often equipped with remote rescue detectors to use, which will require emergency teams when they will suffer.
Telehealth is emerging as a highly effective solution that is able to exploit a unique and reasonable technology with all the possibilities to provide adequate and efficient assistance for patients who want to adapt to it, and also offers a different approach for an NHS overloaded by providing extraordinary health results. You can connect mobile app development companies for the healthcare industry to develop the software.

Second medical opinion How it can save your life

A new study done by the Mayo Clinic has found nearly 9 out of 10 patients seeking a second opinion at Mayo go home with a different diagnosis—completely changing treatment plans and prognoses for some patients.
The study analyzed the records of 286 patients who went to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. They found the Mayo Clinic doctors gave 21 percent of patients an entirely different diagnosis, and another 66 percent of patients had their diagnoses refined.
This study isn’t the first of its kind to bring attention to major medical errors. In the last few years, diagnostic errors have been brought into the spotlight in published studies. Johns Hopkins researchers reported they were the third leading cause of the death in the U.S., and the National Academy of Medicine found nearly every person will experience at least one diagnostic error.
A new study conducted by the Mayo Clinic found that nearly 9 out of 10 patients seeking a second medical opinion go home with a different diagnosis, completely changing treatment plans and prognosis for some patients.
The study analyzed the records of 286 patients who went to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. They found that the Mayo Clinic doctors gave 21 percent of patients a completely different diagnosis, and another 66 percent of the patients had perfected the diagnosis.

This study is not the first of its kind to bring attention to the main medical errors. In recent years, diagnostic errors have been brought into the limelight in published studies. The Johns Hopkins researchers reported being the third leading cause of death in the United States, and the National Academy of Medicine found that almost every person will experience at least one diagnostic error.

The benefits of another aspect

Despite the advantages, a second medical opinion can be daunting for many patients. Some of the common concerns that people have about second opinions are:
• They will offend their doctors
• It will take too much time and will delay treatment
• They cannot afford to see another doctor and pay to repeat the tests
• There is no other doctor on the network nearby
• They do not know enough about their condition to doubt their doctors
However, as stated by Mark L. Graber, MD, a researcher at the RTI International research institute and founder of the Society for Improve Diagnosis in Medicine, in a Washington Post article, "the diagnosis is extremely difficult. There are 10,000 diseases and only 200 to 300 symptoms. Doctors are human and make the same cognitive errors we all do. If you are diagnosed seriously or if you do not respond as you should [to drugs], a second medical opinion is a good idea. Because fresh eyes catch mistakes. "

A different kind of second opinion

Know when to say goodbye to your toothbrush and switch to new one

Flossing and brushing your teeth on a regular basis is the best way to have a shiny smile and a strong oral health. We are all aware of the trick of brushing our teeth every night and morning for at least two minutes with fluoride toothpaste and floss once a day to get perfect teeth we all dream for. However, ever you wondered what is the right time to replace your toothbrush?

We all have heard the advice that “change your toothbrush every 3 months", but how many of us actually follow this advice? Do we really think that it is necessary? We think to ourselves, “this is just the trick of toothbrush companies who want to make more money from us," or "It still works fine. Why change that works?" The truth is, you should replace your toothbrush every three months, for many different reasons.

Our toothbrushes are a reproductive area for fungi, germs, and bacteria that can grow to a large extent, if not treated properly. Follow these tips to maintain the hygiene of your toothbrush.

•         Wash it properly under running water and shake well to get rid of all the dirt.
•         Keep it straight. Do not keep it lying down.
•         Make sure it does not touch other things.
•         A wet brush causes bacteria to grow, so keep it open.
•         Allow it to dry completely before using it again.

The importance of going for a new toothbrush is generally not taken into account until the toothbrush starts to lose its bristles and wears out physically. However, dentists suggest that you need to switch the brush after every 3 months no matter what its condition is for good oral hygiene.

After 3 months of use, the toothbrush becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and germs. According to a post on Dentistry IQ, the toothbrush is home to 10 million bacteria and other microorganisms. If used correctly, however, you can kill many of the germs between uses. Toothpaste contains anti-germ components, and letting your brush to dry between uses also kills off the germs. When you are sick, your toothbrush can become home to many more germs and bacteria and must be replaced (even if it was not 3 months). For your wellbeing, we recommend replacing your toothbrush after each infection, flu, cold, mouth sores, or a sore throat.

Another reason is that when you are suffering from a sore throat, colds, flu or other diseases, the bacteria collects on the brush hair that could make you sick again after some time. As mentioned above, the toothbrushes easily catch bacteria from the environment and your mouth.

Maintenance of a proper routine for your toothbrush by replacing it regularly will keep your healthy nag germ free. Your teeth and gums will also stay healthier.

Home Health Care Services: The Right Health Care for Your Elders

If you are worried about the health of your aging parents, then it's time to get the perfect home health care services for them. You should do it, especially if you live far from them. Giving them the right home health care provider can rest assured knowing that their health needs in life would be catered.
There are several sources of home health care services you can avail. There are home health agencies where you can get your home doctor. Here you can be sure that certified professionals will be presented to you. They are often governed by federal requirements before they can practice their profession. However, assistance may be limited because specialists are assigned.
On the contrary, you can go to care-aid agencies for some more general home care needs. If you want a partner who also takes care of the hygiene and domestic needs of your loved ones, the health care agencies can provide you with the necessary professional companions. They could prepare for your parents' meals and help them perform their personal functions on a daily basis.
If your elderly are treated for a terminal illness, you can contact hospices for help. In addition to taking care of the patient, the hospices also provide support for the whole family, thus making the patient's life more comfortable despite the situation.
When talking about patients, if your seniors need assistance in terms of facilitating their medical needs, you can contact the pharmaceutical therapy companies. These companies specialize in drug delivery and the equipment needed to help patients get their nutritional and intravenous therapies. They will assign specific pharmacists to assist your elders.
If you think it would be important to have a real nurse with them in their home, you can consult the services of private service agencies. What they will do is evaluate the case of your loved ones and, based on this, you will be assigned a private nurse. A specific program will also be followed when the private nurse passes to your home.
If you want to have a better understanding of the type of healthcare provider that has been assigned to your parents, you might consider hiring a registry service. They work like recruitment agencies, providing a good match between their customers and their list of certified health service providers.
If you want to stick to your budget and use that instead of paying directly home health care services, while continuing to actively participate in the selection process, you can opt for health professionals. You can meet these people by posting advertisements on different channels.

How to Survive a Heart Attack While It Is Happening?

There are cases when an individual suffers from heart attack when they are with other people, asking for help is probably the first instinctive thing they should do. But what if they are alone during the heart attack?
If you have a heart attack, you must first be able to identify the symptoms to know about it. General symptoms of a heart attack include:
• Strong chest pain in the central or left side of the chest, which usually lasts for at least 20 minutes. The pain can also radiate to the upper part of the left arm, the neck or even the jaw.
• Profuse sweating and feeling of imminent death.

Suggestions for surviving a heart attack

• If an individual is alone or in the presence of others - the first thing to do is to call an emergency doctor. They need specialized care to be delivered to them as quickly as possible in order to save their heart muscle.
• Stop whatever they are doing, proceed to a safe place to rest and call a doctor. For example, if a person is driving, first they have to move to the side of the road and ask for help.
• The best cardiologists in India have also suggested that while they are waiting for medical assistance, they may have an aspirin since in-depth studies have also shown that taking an aspirin, which is known as the preferred drug to thin the blood in the world during a heart attack, it improves survival.
• Coughing repeatedly helps even in the event of a heart attack.

Tips for preventing heart attacks

• Eat for the future - Add lots of fruits and vegetables, cereals and eat less salt, saturated fats, sweets and red meats. Avoid Trans fats and food with "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" ingredients.
• Find a relaxation method - Yoga, meditation, time spent to relax after work - these can help keep stress levels low.
• No smoking: if you smoke, you must stop immediately.
• Keep your blood pressure under control - If your blood pressure is too high, your risk of heart attack and heart disease will increase. Stress management, a healthy diet, and regular exercise can help manage blood pressure.
• Consume blood sugars: too much sugar in the blood can damage the arteries, even if an individual does not have diabetes.
• Keep your cholesterol levels in check - When blood flows through the heart, it can drop traces of cholesterol, fat, and calcium, creating an accumulation of plaque in the arteries. Too much more makes a heart attack more likely.
